The Smoking Time Jazz Club are one of the leaders in the renaissance of the New Orleans swing and traditional jazz bands that has occurred over the last decade or so. The Smoking Time Jazz Club mines the canon for fresh material, and at the same time refreshes some of the time-honored favorites of the canon. {The group brings the same aesthetic to their side project, The Secret Six.) The highly popular Smoking Time Jazz Club has eleven albums out, including the much-lauded 2023 “Six Blueses, Five Joys, & A Stomp,” which garnered critical acclaim with deep cuts like Ada Brown’s “Tia Juana Man” and Margaret Carter’s “Come and Get Me Papa Before I Faint.”
