The Shake 'Em Up Jazz Band, an all-female cast of traditional New Orleans jazz musicians, is a dynamic presence on the local – and international – musical scene.  Featuring expert musicians like trombonist Haruka Kikuchi, trumpeter Marla Dixon, and Chloe Feoranzo, Molly Reeves, Julie Schexnayder, and Defne “Dizzy” Incirlioglu, the Shake ‘Em Up Jazz Band immediately gained an enthusiastic following, and are now established doyennes of the New Orleans trad jazz community. Their second album, “A Woman’s Place,” features all songs from women composers from the 1910s – 1930s.
