Russell Welch is a sought-after guitarist, composer, and producer who excels in the Gypsy jazz stylings first espoused by Django Reinhardt. Welch brings his impeccable fretwork to his own band, the Russell Welch Hot Quartet/Trio, and to a number of other local trad jazz bands including the Jumbo Shrimp Jazz Band, The Hot Club of New Orleans, The Champagniacs,  and with sultry songstress Meschiya Lake and the Little Big Horns; and Meschiya and the Machetes. Welch is also the recipient of numerous awards and a featured performer and teacher at Django-flavored festivals around the world.
