Leslie Cooper brings a lifetime of traditional jazz heritage to the stage. As a young girl in Alabama, she would accompany her family when her musician father played in New Orleans, and her love of the genre never wavered. After many years in the health care field, she recently returned to singing, partnering with Harry Mayronne and others in clubs around New Orleans. She hosts the Tuesday trad jazz program on WWOZ, and often performs with her son, trumpeter and tuba player Doyle Cooper.
