The Catahoulas

The Catahoulas is an all-star New Orleans band focusing on the city’s legendary R & B scene of the 1950s and 60s, the enduring tunes that emerged from places like the J & M Studios and the pens of Dave Bartholomew, Allen Toussaint, Fats Domino, Ernie K-Doe, and Lee Dorsey. The Catahoulas, with veteran drummer and Crescent City institution Gerald French holding down the drum kit and Josh Gouzy on bass, breathe new life into some of the city’s classic songs and deep musical history.  Their debut album, “Homegrown,” was a critic’s favorite, with standards like “Bourbon Street Parade” (penned by French’s uncle Bob), and deeper cuts like “Shrimp and Gumbo” and “Bald Headed Beulah.”
