Carolyn Broussard describes her Americana-style music as “raised in Cajun country with a New Orleans attitude.” The rocking Southern songbird from New Iberia started out early as an opera singer, but soon moved east and became a force on the local New Orleans blues-rock scene. She can most often be found playing with her own band, soloing on guitar and banjo in addition to her vocal chops. She also brings strong songwriting to the stage and studio with stories of love and redemption, such as her hopeful “Flip the Record.” Her 2017 Now is the Time is a soul-filled collection, with covers ranging from Mavis Staples to The Temptations’ “I Can’t Get Next to You.”
