The U.S. Travel Association put a spotlight on New Orleans this summer, and WWOZ served as musical chauffeur to the world.

June 18-22 was a celebratory time at The Morial Convention Center, as New Orleans hosted this year's IPW Conference, a large travel industry marketplace with over 70 countries represented.

In an effort to promote traditional city traits, members of WWOZ staff, as well as volunteers and local musicians spoke with media affiliates and performed live, offering audio essence of all New Orleans has to offer.  According to the U.S. Travel Association website (USTravel.org), there is an estimated over four and a half billion dollars of revenue motivated to be spent in America annually as a result of global promotion and awareness from this super convention.
Among the days of meetings with international buyers, and multiple traveling agencies,  the media room held a WWOZ stage with live broadcasts, performances, interviews, and tables of computers for writers to complete their articles.

On the final day, Joe Lastie's Brass Band led a second line through the Convention Center floor. Cameras from around the world filmed and frolicked to keep pace with the dancing room. New Orleans was represented in fine form.
