1) Lots of live music coming your way on WWOZ this weekend and next week! Today around 11:30, catch Sam Price & the True Believers on the New Orleans Music Show. Tomorrow around noon, hear a preview of Cuban pianist Roberto Fonseca's free show at the George & Joyce Wein New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Center as he joins Yolanda Estrada during the Tiene Sabor show. And on Thursday, September 29, we're in the club at Snug Harbor with the Barry Stephenson Quartet. Bringing you the sounds of New Orleans, no matter where you are...and the views. You can watch both in-studio sessions on our Live Video page.

2) Young Men Olympians Annual Parade is happening this Sunday starting at 1p! Get the route sheet from WWOZ's Takin' It To The Streets.

3) WEEKEND! Bogalusa Blues & Heritage Fest runs Friday and Saturday, and there are three great events on Sunday: Fried Chicken Fest is happening in Lafayette Square with lots of great local music, Rock'n'Bowl is hosting a Gumbo Cook-Off For A Cause (youth enrichment programs in Hollygrove), and Second Line Brewing (433 N. Bernadette St.) is taking part in the Concert Across America campaign to end America's gun violence epidemic with a concert from Bo Dollis & the Wild Magnolias, Bamboula 2000, and Marina Orchestra.

4) This week's new music spotlight focused on Cajun musician Bruce Daigrepont, who many say singlehandedly popularized traditional Cajun music in New Orleans. His latest, Bienvenue dans le Sud de la Louisiane features 14 original tracks and the great Daigrepont sound longtime fans know and love. Lagniappe: he'll be performing a free show at 3p on Sunday at the Louisiana Music Factory.

5) Our video of the week comes from Tank & the Bangas performing 'The Bradys' at Cafe Istanbul following this year's Krewe du Vieux parade on January 23. They'll also be onstage at the Fried Chicken Fest on Sunday.
