THEATER AUDITIONS Troupe Layaya July 2-30 AUDITIONING FOR THE FOLLOWING YOUTH ROLES: ALICE IN WONDERLAND Alice - Title Role Female ages 8- 14 Medium-Heavy Dialog Must be able to memorize and deliver lines in character on cue, take direction and follow stage direction. Must be available every Thursday afternoon/evening and occasional Saturdays for rehearsals through the season (August - Feb) WIZARD OF OZ - MUNCHKINLAND SCENE (Rehearsals Saturdays 5pm-630pm) Munchkins Males & Females ages 6-13 Must be able to memorize “Munchkin Song” and sing in group. Simple choreography. SPOT LIGHT MUNCHKIN ROLES Lullaby League (Ballet Munchkins) Females age 6-11 Dance experience helpful but not required. Lollipop Guild (Tough Guy Munchkins) Males age 6-11 WILLIE WONKA & THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY (Rehearsals Thursday afternoon/evenings with occasional Saturdays) OOOMPA LOOMPAS Males ages 8-14 Must be able to learn 4 songs with simple movement and deliver in character ADDITIONAL LEAD ROLES: MATTHEW - Male age 8-11 MADELINE - FEMALE AGE 8-11 Medium to heavy dialog. Must be able to attend rehearsals Thursday evenings 6pm-7pm and occasional Saturdays. * We will consider ages younger/older if actor qualifies with audition Actors will be required to attend weekly rehearsals (Aug - December) as scheduled at the studio in Belle Chasse (Westbank) to prepare for performance run (December - Feb) Experience is not required however actors must be able to learn, memorize and deliver lines in character and/or songs and follow direction. Audition material will be emailed upon request. Audition material need not be memorized. Auditions are by appointment only.
